First concert of 2015... Bryan Adams

June 20, 2015

I walked into Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, enjoying the view of the rolling hills perfectly groomed grounds and flower beds, and breathing the clean breezy air blowing through the venue.  There is no better feeling then to think I am back to begin this year’s concert season beginning with Bryan Adams.  Although I was not around to hear the music originally, Bryan Adams is one of my favorite artists and his music will live on for years to come which was evidence by the dedicated fans at tonight’s show.  The Reckless 30th Anniversary Tour celebrates Bryan Adams most successful solo album which originally sold over 12 million copies worldwide.  Bryan Adams opened his show with “Reckless”, a song that he admits never made his original Reckless album.  Bryan Adams continued playing number one singles written by himself and his friend Jim Vallance such as  “One Night Love Affair,” Dancing”, and “Run to You.”   When Bryan began to sing “Summer of 69”, the crowd joined in reflecting on this timeless song about making love in the summer time.  Bryan Adams was humble and nostalgic in admitting his excitement and what an honor it was to work with Tina Turner at age 24 in composing his number one hit “It’s only Love.”   What a fun night listening to Bryan Adams with his distinctive voice, singing his hit, including one of my favorites, “Cuts Like a Knife,” as he introduced several others that never made his original album including “Boys Night Out.”
