Scotty McCreery

Sunday afternoon my Mom and I headed up for another concert at Bethel Woods, NY. AKA Woodstock!  I was scheduled to interview American Idol Scotty McCreery who was the opening act for Country band Rascal Flatts.  On the way up to the venue, it starts pouring so hard people on the highway were driving pretty much at 30 mph… All I am thinking is please let the rain stop, because it is quite a walk from the parking lot to backstage.  Thankfully it stopped raining by the time we pulled into the parking lot.  We decided instead of going to a restaurant we would eat at the venue.  They have AMAZING sandwiches very reasonably priced.  I could eat there every day…  The time finally came for me to go backstage to Scotty’s tour bus and interview him.  Scotty was super nice!!  It is always fun interviewing contestants from American Idol and hearing how each artist’s experience on the show is unique and what they are up to now.  Scotty has a new single out “Southern Belle” which is a great hit and I am excited to play on the show for everyone.  Of course I had to bring up that last time he was at Bethel Woods, opening for Brad Paisley, he fell off the stage.  We both laughed about it…   Scotty’s performance Sunday night was awesome!  He has such a great voice and great energy!!  Rascal Flatts took the stage right after Scotty performing all their hits including “Riot”, “What Hurts The Most”, and my favorite “My Wish”.  As they were performing, they would shake fans hands, you can tell they absolutely love their fans and are very fan oriented.  I hope they come back next year on tour.
